The results from an MFI test can help a trained cardiologist to estimate a persons individual risk for life threatening arrhythmias.

Globally millions of people die from sudden cardiac death (SCD) every year. In the US the number is estimated to be about 300'000 to 450'000 for the UK  it is about 100'000. Aproximately 80% of these cases are caused by high frequency arrhythmia. In general everyone can be at risk, as it has been shown in scientific studies, half of all SCD occure in people that were not aware of their cardiac disese and their sudden cardiac deth is the first manifestation of this disease.  But also in the group of people with a known cardiac problem the risk is often underestimated. With the Apollo MFI system developed by BMDSys a trained cardiologist for the first time can support his estimation with insight, not available before. The five minute test  unveils new information about the electrophysiology of the heart, that can be used for  an individual riskstratification.

In Germany the spezial centres for heartrhythm at the Klinikum Ludwigshafen lead by  Prof. Zahn and at Asklepios Klinikum St. Georg in Hamburg lead by well known Prof. Kuck offer the MFI test in clinical routine. Further hospitals in Germany like the university hospitals of  Tuebingen and Jena are planing for the the installation of an MFI system.
