Magnetic field imaging – Technology made in Germany

Erfurt (Germany), February 13th 2008. More than 50,000 visitors have been registered at this year’s Arab Health in Dubai, U. A. E. This congress is a must-see, especially for globally acting manufacturers of medical technology. The products of the German manufacturers of medical technology are thereby in great demand. In this context BMDSys company, Jena, Germany, presented the new cardiac diagnostic system Apollo CXS to the international public. With the new technology and analytical technology, Magnetic Field Imaging (MFI), so far invisible components and their changes of the cardiac activity can be recorded. In this way irregularities regarding the activation of the myocardal muscle, which can be the trigger for sudden cardiac death, or electrophysiological heralds of cardiac circulatory disorder, which may later lead to a myocardial infarction, can be diagnosed at an early stage.

More than 2,200 exhibitors from over 65 countries were present on the ground. „The Arab Health was the ideal platform for us to introduce the emerging MFI technology and extending our scientific contacts“, said Torsten Krümmel, CEO of BMDSys. Apollo CXS is a cardiac diagnostic system, which can detect the electrophysiological cardiac condition with a recording taking only two minutes. Depending on the indication, the data can be demonstrated in different ways, e. g. as three-dimensional animations or as specific curves. The diagnostic system is free of radiation, contact-free, non-invasive and furthermore requires no contrast agent. Concerning manageability in the hospital, velocity and effectiveness are particularly convincing. More than 60 patients per day can be examined with Apollo CXS. The system is already used successfully in the university hospital of Jena, Germany.
On the exhibition, the visitors had the chance to get a precise description of the new technology by means of a detailed model and computer demonstrations. „It is important to us to demonstrate interested parties the easy application and safety of this diagnostic method. With our model, we can explain intelligible to all the functionality of the technique and a possible integration into the hospital’s daily life.
Medical technology from Germany is top-ranking particularly in the Middle East. But also many Asian and American hospitals appreciate the German innovations.
